He  served as a mid-level teacher for nearly  18 years and as a Tamil teacher  for 21 years in Government Schools, which is in and around Tanjore District. He has participated in many debates since 1970 and was a best Orator since 1964. He got many awards and honours such as Sithantha Rathinam given by Thiruvadudhurai Aadhinam, Sekkizhar Seer Parapuvar by Suriyanaar kovil aadhinam etc.,
